On Saturday, January 18th, the BISD Education Foundation hosted our annual Baubles & Boots event at Antler Oaks Lodge. Guests started arriving at 4:30 to a large silent auction of three different aisles of items, wonderful food choices, and their choice of beverages. The venue quickly filled, with ample time to peruse the auction and visit with other guests. Around 6, the live auction began, and people gathered downstairs and upstairs to get a good view of the items.
Dr. Hollingsworth and Patricia McMullan (Hooter), our President, talked a bit about some of the amazing things the Foundation has helped become realities, including the SSEP project at the middle school, which is allowing 5 of our students to take their microgravity space project to an actual rocket launch to be launched into space. During the auction, some intense bidding wars went on, but all of the auctions were incredibly successful! Final calculations on the night are still being nailed down, but we are confident that the total is around $36,000 with the early numbers. This was our biggest Baubles & Boots event to date, and we’re so excited for the potential for our teachers, students, and school district for next year’s grants! We want to thank all of our generous donors and buyers for the event! Your donations of auction items and generous bids allowed this to be possible. In addition, we want to thank each one of our sponsors: Antler Oaks Lodge, Buddy’s Water Well and Septic, Spirits of Texas, Bandera Electric Cooperative, Byrne Construction Services, Southwest Foodservice, and Guido Construction!
