2025 Lead Donor Breakfast

Our annual Lead Donor Breakfast was hosted by the Mayan Dude Ranch!  We had board members and donors come enjoy a cowboy breakfast, and hear about how one of our funded grants, Bulldog Live, has been utilized in the last year. We appreciate all of the generosity of our donors.

Thank You!

On Wednesday, May 21st, at our annual meeting, the Foundation happily accepted an incredible donation made by David and Cynthia Hoff on behalf of the Ruth F. Phillips Perpetual Scholarship Trust in the amount of $300,000. The Scholarship fund was originally created and given out to students who were entering trades schools after graduating.

Cynthia (a Bandera alumni) was appointed as trustee of the Ruth Phillip’s Scholarship earlier in 2024, and as such, she had to either choose to continue the scholarship process or find a non-profit to donate the money to that could continue that legacy. In the fall of 2024, the Hoff’s reached out to meet with the Education Foundation in the hopes that we could potentially be the non-profit that they could bless this money with. The Hoffs met with the Foundation’s Executive Committee in October to discuss the opportunity and ensure the fit was right for both parties.

In January, we were notified that they selected us to be the beneficiary of the funds in the hopes that this money would go directly to the trades. The Education Foundation will be creating a specific grant process for the funds to go directly to our district CTE program. We are so incredibly grateful, excited, and honored to have been chosen to be stewards of this amazing gift, and we know that this will make a huge impact to so many students in our district. Thank you, David & Cynthia, for taking the time to come meet with us, get to know us, support us, and give us this incredible honor of carrying out Ruth’s wishes!
